You're not relying on the rubber for traction, but you are relying on the tyre to hold the air pressure without going pop. I guess when you're weakening the tyre like that it makes sense to start with the strongest tyre you can.

A friend of mine in New Zealand had a Cressida I had a real soft spot for. It looked similar to the one above (same wheels, I'm sure) but had a different grill and (I think, but my memory might be playing tricks on me) a bigger front air dam that gave it a kinda meaner, sportier look. It also had sheepskin (or mock

Dad?

G'day, mate

I have no idea what gun control is like in Poland but I was over there earlier the year happened to wander into a very big, very prominently placed high street airsoft store (I actually hoping it was a military surplus store was kinda disappointed). I deduced that airsoft must be much bigger news in Poland than here

"not allowing their service standards to slip, even the tiniest bit"

"Uncle Sam is still keen to keep the riff-raff and maniac vigilantes from going nuts with these things I guess."

I was going to find a nice Land Rover Defender on ebay UK, they're plentiful over here and $10,000 (a little over £6500) is more than enough to find a nice one. However, I then spotted this

I believe you are correct

This pretty much sums up my feelings on the subject.

A coupe based on what was widely regarded as the most boring car of its age was never going to be that exciting. It was better looking than the Ford Probe, but that's not exactly setting the bar high. If we compare it to the Rover 200 coupe (pictured) and VW Corrado of the same era it just looks bland.

You should've said it was a joke. I thought it was and I found it really funny, I actually about click the star when I stopped and wondered if it actually was a joke.

Someone put knobby tyres and a 2" lift on a minibus? How exciting!

As I said to the other reply, the "surveillance-nanny state" exists in different ways in many countries, I'm not aware anything that makes UK stand out as any worse (or better) than its neighbors that regard. Two examples that stand out in my mind are the compulsory ID issue, many (possibly most?) countries require

As far as I'm aware restrictions on the above mentioned things exist in most countries, although the specifics and the way the rules are worded vary. He seemed to be making a specific point about the UK, I'm interested know what that point is and what has led him to that opinion.

You've obviously got some sort of axe to grind, but you did not make it clear exactly what point you were trying to make. Care to elaborate?

Er, what?

I was going to mention the quirky French freak of the group, or rather, the shockingly conventional car that managed to fight its way into group. Quite an achievement.

GM come out looking pretty good on that list (what with the Vauxhall/Holden being GM, too) but I'd be hanging my head if I were BMW.
