Except for a couple of barking dog issues, I’ve never had this problem. My current neighborhood is very quiet. I live in a 4-plex (two upstairs and two downstairs. I’m upstairs.) and my upstairs neighbor likes to play loud video games late at night. However, his downstairs neighbor complained to the property

Indeed. What’s funny is his house doesn’t even have any windows that face the other house, and her bedroom is on the opposite corner, diagonally.

You know, that actually inspires a good idea. Hook it up to a hose with a switch that only goes off it the mailbox is removed. Like a firehose.  With a high pressure nozzle.

I hate you very much because you didn’t share. Not that I should be eating white bread anyway. My A1C last week sucked, even though I’ve been trying really hard to avoid those high glycemic index foods.

Interesting.  Clearly an advertisement for soundproofed windows, but good points all around.

My friend lives in a lower middle class suburban neighborhood where the houses are crammed pretty close together but still have pretty big back yards. He recently got rid of some old, irritating neighbors on one side and a new family moved in. The new family has a tendency to make a lot of noise, throwing parties for

Build it into a mailbox.  Bell towards the street.

Or better yet, a finger.  🖕

I’ve long since given up on Israel as a country we need to be defending or assisting in any way. Israel today is little different from South Africa under apartheid. They aren’t our friends, nor allies, nor good citizens of Earth.

Is it just me, or would the world be a lot better if we just canceled “awards” like these?  It’s not like people are incapable of deciding for themselves which actors and movies they like.

Yes I do, and I was never a fan of Andrew Dice Clay to begin with. That said, it was all just a shtick he did for the audience. I never saw the movie, which if I remember correctly was titled The Adventures of Ford Fairlane. (1990 was a good year for movies, otherwise.)

No, I was an adult.  With regular access to my girlfriend (later wife.)

Holy shit, but Rock the Cradle of Love and Wicked Game were amazing representations of the height of MTV.  Music videos that actually had some thought put into them, and were actually art in their own right.

I only remember her from Hercules the Legendary Journeys where she played his first wife. She never impressed me there. I’m sure I’ve seen the Whitesnake video (part of the MTV generation that I am) but it certainly didn’t stand out enough for me to remember her. Or it. (Never was a Whitesnake fan.)

For those of us who don’t remember All in the Family from back in the day, Archie Bunker was a bigoted working class white guy from Queens.

This engine is a development of the Russian RD-120, which itself is the ancestor of the RD-180 which is the Russian built engine used on American Atlas 5 launch vehicles. It is thought to be extremely similar to the RD-170, which is the predecessor to the RD-180. It should be an excellent design, presuming Chinese

I note the ratio of stars in his joke to your comment.

Agreed, although there are still some technical problems to overcome. Another good location is the Andes Plateau in Peru. Nice and high, while being fairly flat with some stable mountains for the base. Ecuador is another option. Not quite as high as the Peru location, but closer to the equator.

Exactly.
