Isn’t it funny how Deadpool remains popular with straight guys even though the character is canonically pan-sexual? Hell, in Deadpool 2 it’s blatant about his interest in Colossus, and there are hints of his interest in Peter and/or Dopinder. NTW? They fight like only siblings or lovers in denial could. (Yeah yeah, I…
That’s what I understand. The show ended before I was born. However The Carol Burnett Show debuted the year I was born, and I grew up watching it because both my Grandmother (maternal) and my Dad liked it and it was one of the few shows they agreed on. They didn’t like each other much when I was little (My…
Thank you for that.
Honestly, before my time.
Man, I wish I could remember the term for the person who can take a few factual/believable memories and weave them into a fictional narrative.
Washington is little better, but we do have better roads. Generally.
I really really want to adopt a new kitteh, but my lease doesn’t allow them and I really can’t afford the additional expense right now. Maybe someday.
I sincerely doubt you broke it if you can still walk on it at all, but it’s very important that you get it x-rayed just in case. Ironically it would be better if you had broken it since bones heal much faster than soft tissue like tendons and ligaments. However, if it is a broken bone it’s important to get it set…
I just got the weirdest news from my Doctor yesterday. It turns out I have antibodies for Hepatitis C, although I don’t currently have any signs of the virus in my blood. I had just switched doctors and they did a liver panel, then had me come in for more comprehensive liver tests.
Are you calling me old? Oh no you didn’t!
Indeed, and welcome my brother! (Or sister, since your handle is ambiguous.) Another couple of movies that benefit from the theater experience are 2001: A Space Odyssey and Spartacus. Kubrick knew how to make use of a wide screen.
The 5 speed was the Mazda 5 speed. The downside to it was reverse was way too high ratio, and it could have used a granny low. Instead it was essentially a 4 speed with overdrive. That said, it got pretty good fuel mileage so there were upsides too. That 300-6 is indestructible, particularly in the last few years…
I know I saw other movies in the theater prior to Star Wars, but that’s my first memory of a movie theater experience. I was a month or two shy of 10 years old. I have vague memories of going to see Escape to Witch Mountain in the theater, but I don’t remember the actual experience. Pretty much anything prior to Star…
I dunno about “best time in a movie theater,” but I can lay claim to being of an age that I saw Star Wars in first run in the theater, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Matrix, and Guardians of the Galaxy all in the first opening week or so. I’d say that’s a pretty good record for a geek these days.
Any post that mentions Raiders of the Lost Ark in the same post with Lawrence of Arabia and Knives out get’s a star from me.
I’ve had that very conversation with idiots from other parts of the country who base their opinions on Portland on what they’ve seen on Fox “News.” In their eyes Portland is nothing but a constant series of city-wide riots, all caused by Antifa.
I know. I had a 1969 Datsun pickup that was a workhorse. It hauled all sorts of crap, and never complained. I probably should have kept it, but it was ancient when I sold it. The seat sucked, and the heater only barely worked. Still ran like a top though. It was a time of big changes in my life so it was one of the…
It was originally titled Salute of the Jugger internationally and runs a bit longer. Try to find a copy of that. The differences aren’t that great, but there’s a pretty decent denouement at the end that is missing from the American cut.
