Our cat “Ed” loved tuna juice. He wouldn’t eat tuna to save his life, but if you squeezed the juice out of the can into his bowl he come running. I tried giving him actual tuna a few times and he licked all the juice from around it and looked at me with the most disapproving expression I’ve ever seen on a cat.

I’m in the middle of making them, open the fridge, and realize I don’t have any milk. Now probably it would work just fine with water, but I need milk anyway. I get to the grocery store (which, I really needed several things anyway) and reach the dairy aisle and it hits me like a brick: “I could have just used cream!”

Pre-heat, sort of. I put some butter (maybe half a teaspoon?) in each cup and put it in the oven until it’s melted. That’s as pre-heated as it gets.

I know spam is popular in Hawaii and I know that the Japanese absolutely adore Hawaii for some reason. So perhaps there is some leakage?

I guess it depends on your definition of “popovers.” I melt some butter in a non-stick cupcake/muffin tin, mix up some batter that is 1/3 cup milk, 1/3 cup flour, 2 eggs, and some beef bullion granules instead of salt (or you could use salt) mix it all up, but not too much. Then put a couple tablespoons of the batter

Years ago I took a Conversational Japanese class from a woman who was an acquaintance of my Dad. She was quite nice, but she was Japanese American, and had grown up in California. I later found out some of the things she “taught” us were very wrong. Particularly about etiquette.

Can I have dinner at your house?  I’ll bring cheese popovers.  (My latest food passion.)

My brother had a raging boner for these when they came out, but he couldn’t afford one so he bought a jacked up Ford F250 gas motor (because he didn’t trust diesel, but he was later convinced otherwise.) He was always about “bigger” in everything, but he never had the intelligence to back it up. He’s been through

My Grandfather was a Ford dealer in the 1960's. With all the hooplah around the release of the Mustang he bought the first one on the lot, and immediately took it on a road trip from the Portland Metro Area down to San Diego to attend my Uncle’s graduation from the Marine Corps, along with my Grandmother.

That’s more or less what happened.  Perlmutter was famously against female superheroes in particular.

Hell, in the original 1967 Casino Royale there are four James Bonds (James Bondis? James Bondages?) in that one single movie!

I really can’t say about Prince Philip, but my Dad loved “Aliens” magazines and books and things. He bought books like Chariots of the Gods and all the UFO magazines on a regular basis.

Upvoted for the proper use of the word “kerning.”

I can see it, but also not see it.

More like threw too many ideas against the wall to see  which ones stuck.  None of them really did.

I don’t know if they were always played in that order or not. However going in for Totoro and coming out after Grave must have been a jarring experience.

I know a guy who’s got one, although I’ve never seen it. (An ‘05 I think) He doesn’t drive it much from what I understand. He owns a pawn shop and some guy pawned it about 10 years ago for a fraction of its value, then never came back for it. (Yeah, there are people out there that stupid.) I went to high school with

I believe it was Yamaha that had a simpler system in a concept bike that was hydraulic. It wasn’t really a 2-wheel-drive system as much as a front wheel hydraulic traction assist, to enable you to have more control in rough conditions. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think it was intended for trials bikes.

I can sum it up for you in one line:

Did you know it was released as a double feature with My Neighbor Totoro in Japan? They were produced concurrently, and it was the only way Miyazaki could get funding for Totoro. They were both financed by the author of the original book on which Grave was based. When they were played together people often left after
