The blanket pardon that Ford gave Nixon has never been tested in any court. There are many legal authorities both conservative and liberal who disagree on the constitutionality of such a blanket pardon, should a challenge to such ever reach the Supreme Court. All it would really take is a pretty obstinate Attorney

Why is it always the ones with no legal grounds for opposing a trial that call for the trial to be cancelled? Anyone who was truly innocent of the charges should be loudly calling for the trial. “No honest court would convict me!”

That was my conclusion after researching them a few years ago.  I’m not a bicycle geek, but mostly it just looked heavy and clunky to my inexpert eyes.  They seemed to have bet everything on low price.

The bike in those pictures is clearly a pre-production mockup. It is definitely not cast aluminum, and probably not CNC aluminum. (You are correct, that wouldn’t make sense.) It appears to have been TIG welded up from flat pieces and then ground smooth and polished. You wouldn’t do that for a production machine. It

I’d have done it all with extrusions, like other motorcycle manufacturers do. Or castings, or a combination of both. A custom extruding die is relatively inexpensive, and if properly designed can be used for the entire chassis. I’ve worked at a couple of companies that used custom extrusions extensively. Laverda did

Since this is supposed to be a city bike, the assumption is it will never be in the dirt...

Thank you.  I miss him, but he was also a bloody idiot in a lot of ways.

My Grandmother had fought “pelvic pain” for a year or so in her 60's when her gynecologist recommended a hysterectomy. Reasonable, since she was 64 at the time. This was in the 80's, so a vaginal hysterectomy wasn’t really done. Anyway they opened her up, the surgeon took one look at all the cancer, and just sewed up

I know.  I wouldn’t want to see the cantaloupe get an inferiority complex either.

Good!  Although, if you bought it you could give a better first-hand impression than my second hand one.  Perhaps I’m being too harsh on the thing.

The 1050 was the Speed Triple version. I had a 2005 version of that. And yeah, it could scare you. 100% Wheelie machine. I used to drag race it back in the day. The Street Triple is a smaller displacement and completely different bike. I actually liked it a lot better because it was way lighter and handled better.

You don’t even know what I look like!

I agree that it’s a great concept.  I would really be interested in it if it were better designed, particularly at that price point.

It knows what it did.  😑

Lots of cancer in my family, unfortunately. But we’ve never been big on open caskets. Every member of my family that I’ve been close to has been cremated. My Grandmother died of ovarian cancer in the 80's. I lived with her for a year while I watched her die, which was difficult (I was in college.)  Now I have to live

They found my Mom’s brain tumor when they CT scanned her head when she had a stroke.  Luckily it’s benign, but it was really scary for a while there.  She recovered very well from the stroke, but has tons of other problems these days.

Ugh. I meant “five days” not “eleven.”

It reminds me of my Dad who went to the hospital because he couldn’t breathe due to a lump in his neck he hadn’t told anyone about. (He was “that guy” who didn’t want to know what it was in case it was bad.)

I don’t think that makes it significantly larger than a Grom. 1.5" taller isn’t significant when I can put both feet on the ground straddling  a Grom and still put a cantaloupe between the seat and my balls.
