incredible
I mean, yeah, I think people who are not voting are, generally speaking, not being responsible citizens. But again, scolding people for staying home is hilariously ineffective. “Should people vote?” is an entirely different question from “How do you get more people to vote?”

Hahahahahah
This is ... wildly out of touch.
That being said; she is responsible for her defeat; but the assholes who stayed home or voted 3rd party when they knew what was at stake are not blameless either.
To be honest, I’m less worried about Clinton influencing voters than I am about her (and other elements of the establishment) pulling strings to fuck Bernie out of the nomination. This is the shit that keeps me up at night:
If he gets the nomination, will you endorse and campaign for him?
I’m not going to go there yet. We’re still in a very vigorous primary season.
Holy shit, way to whitewash the working class!
It’s not so much that Warren has appeal among affluent and highly-educated people, it’s that Sanders has really inspired the support of the working class (and of nonvoters), and that’s the really important factor, I think.

Not trying to shit on it! Just saying that centering conversations around “right to privacy” isn’t necessarily the strongest framing for persuading people who are coming to that conversation thinking in terms of conservative talking points.
Yes!

I’d add that many feminists have also raised the point that the right to privacy isn’t the necessarily the strongest argument for abortion, and having a recognized right to, say, bodily autonomy, might be preferable. (This is not to say we shouldn’t protect Roe now with all our…
Well, you’ve certainly given me new-found enthusiasm for advocating free abortion on demand as an absolute right, so thanks for that. It seems like you’re at least trying to be even-handed and thoughtful here, and this all sure sounds nice in the abstract. (Why can’t we just BALANCE the rights of the fetus and the…
Fuck that. Have some principles.
