Pirelli went very conservative on their wet weather tire compounds this year as they did the initial design during 2016 when the F1 really was minimizing racing in very wet conditions. Plus with the new tire width they had to design the new compound around that.

I would agree as long as it’s synthetic. But if you have a high revving engine or put a lot of stress on it, I’d disagree. My Miata get’s Motul 8800, but that has 135,000 miles on it and I pretty much only drive it on the track... that’s where high quality really makes a difference.
