I support your opinion, but I think it would be too dangerous to execute. Turn 1 crashes, esp. on colder days, colder tires, would be inevitable.

Storm-chasing in a Smart? Now I’ve heard everything.

Like a lot of us here, I went all out: lowering springs, cold air intake, cat-back exhaust, chipped, stickers (+HP!), racing seat... I could go on. End result: absolute blast of a car to drive - as long as it wasn’t longer than a half-hour’s worth.

Must’ve been.

When it’s in idle and the clutch is engaged, the gears keep spinning, they say.

Logic dictates that it’s a good idea to warm up my 5-speed Mazda. When it’s cold, I’m late and I don’t warm it up for a minute the transmission is simply not happy. Feels like rowing through molasses.

I may catch some heat, as you probably will, but I’ve never owned a Ford or GM/Chevy - I’m a Japanese car kinda guy - but if I were to, it’d probably be a GM product.
