I’ve been a member of two unions, and even was active in seeking representation from a couple of different unions at a prior employer. In my experience they are useless to most employees. They are nothing but a scam, witb the unions themselves being the perpetrators.

In your anecdotal situation the truck driver iniated the entire series of events with an illegal, dick move. He moved to the left lane impeding the flow of traffic trying to lawfully pass him in the left lane in order to not have to slow down for you merging. Had nothing to do with courtesy.

There is A LOT of that. They seem to love jumping out into the left lane from 10mph under the speed limit 10 feet in front of somebody passing them at 5 over. Sorry dude,your weight/speed/economy issues are your problem.

I do respect big trucks. Add in the fact that the majority of their drivers are over confident, underqualified know-it-alls, and I give them all the real estate they want.
