so funny
This! Except modern TVs are already capable of 240Hz or better. The issue is industry needs to start creating and providing stuff at 60Hz or better. As of now, TV makers use this crappy motion interpolation that just makes stuff look silly.
If I'm reading Wikipedia correctly, the best they have now is 6K but plan up to 28K as an upgrade.
24fps has lasted so long because so far it's been too expensive to do any better. It's basically the minimum frame rate for viewer not to be too annoyed by motion stutter.

Battle Royale 2 is best forgotten.
Yes, I'm looking forward to that. Hopefully I'd be able to find a theater equipped to properly show those films. I'm hoping that all movies theaters are 8K at 60fps in the near future.
Does RED seriously have a 28K camera?
This is great. Next I really want content creators increase the frame rate to at least 60 fps.
I'd argue that adoption was held up by legacy analog infrastructure. Now that we've gone full finally gone full digital (after much hand wringing and delays) it's easier to adopt new formats (resolutions, frame rates, and compression algorithms) while still being backwards compatible.
I wouldn't be so sure. Technological advances tend to be exponential rather than linear.
I saw it when I was a kid and always though fate was unnecessarily mean to that guy.

I don't think it solves not being able to read due to broken glasses problem.
Just for an update. After "requesting service" on December 7th, it looks like Apple generated a UPS return label on December 16th which was shipped to me sometime around the 22nd. I was away for the holidays so just shipped off the iPod on January 6th and it should arrive at Apple on the 9th.
A good idea, but given that it cost about as much as the Kindle I just bought, I'm going to have to pass.
I think all you've done here is increase the conductivity of the aluminum. Not really much to do with superconductivity, which involves a state change. You'll get better results if you use a stronger magnet or a better conductor (like copper). I think it's more interesting to drop a strong neodymium magnet down a…
