I've often wondered how much money he has, and how to got it, and when it will run out. Lets say the advance for his tanked novel was 500k, I would've thought he would've burned through that pretty fast with the car, rent, living, etc.

That is a very good point. Pilsners and lagers with no real great flavor I think are best enjoyed in very cold glasses at cold temperatures. Same with Japanese type beers. But hoppier, more flavorful beers I usually drink out of the bottle or out of a regular unchilled glass.
