If it is a health concern, go to your primary care physician and obtain a note requesting the use of a standing desk. This is going to spare you a series of headaches inspired by management in larger companies. Without a doctor's note, a lot of these requests become crap shoots.
Depends on the context. There's no way, where I work, anything BUT Outlook/Exchange would work... culture and implementation costs... forget it. At home, GMail works just fine.
