I would say that the best (and most fun) way to learn to play D&D is to listen to “Acquisitions, Inc.”, and “Critical Role”, two brilliant D&D series. I’m a huge fan of both, which you can watch on YouTube for free. Both have excellent DungeonMasters that will really train you how to think and react.
