She is on a hit series—she can post something on YouTube and reach a lot of people. Got to start somewhere.

She doesn't need to pitch anyone—she can pick up a camera.

No, it's the logical question. Be the change you want to see = take the risk = make a movie.

Why should he?

She's on a hit series, she has an agent—why not give it a try? People have started with less.

And the director should cast some unknown because feelz? You need to learn how show business works.

Why doesn't she make her own movies?

If this is feminism for the masses, I think the writer is about 20 years too late.

Because most doc makers don't really work in film—they went to J-school or documentary school and don't tell stories.

"Many"? Really? C"mon,

The Academy rewards dull docs (they're like spinach—good for you, gritty and dull) because if documentaries were more entertaining, they'd be competition for "real" movies.  The Kid Stays in the Picture and Hoop Dreams were both passed over in favor of textbook films.  And the food doc ignores the Dept. of
