“Looks like I’m going to a fucking barbecue,” is the best line ever. I don’t think she said it in the books, but it was a great tv-show writing decision!!!!!! Oh, Geillis Duncan. I love you and your Jacobite fanatic husband-poisoning writhe-dancing witchy time traveling in the moonlight ways.

Frank Myers’ story...all I could think of was this:

Since when is “dipping something out” a proper term? “Dipping” alone implies putting something into something just a little and quickly; scooping is taking something out.

This makes no sense and I do not accept your regionalism.

you mean hand-scooped?!

This sort of petty in-fighting is why a man will never be president.

Thanks, but I’m just about done taking political advice from dead white guys.

This vaguely reminds me of (very right wing British politician) Godfrey Bloom’s outburst when a news reporter confronted him to ask why UKIP’s political conference brochure cover photo, typical sea of smiling faces sorta thing, featured absolutely no non-white people.

I don’t know if this is better or worse for being at a Renaissance Faire, but here goes!

All those criticisms are so legit, and yet this is so, so, watchable.

An ex of mine and I had a huge fight when I corrected him for pronouncing it that way. :-( He didn’t like that I was a know-it-all, and I couldn’t deal with that one word, it was like nails on a chalkboard.

I once heard someone call it “Chee-poodle”. Her pronunciation just topped that one.

Nope. Peak Texas would have been, "Man Rides Horse to Whataburger."

This reminds me of the old saw about Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. "She did it in high heels and backwards..." Side-saddle is an order of magnitude harder than astride at anything more than a trot.

Seems like pretty damn important information to me. I would want to know if my future spouse had sex with one of my parents. I just don't see the marriage happening.

You didn’t miss much.

You got it!

Dude, Gwyn, you’re on a budget, you don’t need so many god damn limes

I forgave the spanking scene in the book, but the spousal rape (played very differently in this episode, thank goodness) was the thing I found particularly hard to forgive—really glad they at least cut that out.

Exactly. Thank you.
