I agree. I don't get it. I love McLaren and what they are doing, but if I had 200k to spend on a McLaren I would be shopping very nice used MP4-12C's.

That is what I am saying, the Lambo guys were inspired by the GT40.
Yup, the first one was built after hours in secret by several guys in their early 20's who were obsessed with the GT40.

I deal with some pretty "exclusive" cars for a living and this statement is simply not true. I have already been told by several people with more then adequate funds and large collections that are also in the business that they want to buy my very nice M3 whenever I want to sell it, and I've had it about a month. So…
I hear so many great things about the ST. Yes, I'm in the resto/performance business and letting cars sit is the worst. So many people really screw up their cars by letting them sit, or worse yet they cold start, move and shut down without bringing up to temp. The M3 will be brought up to temp often over the long…
My DD is a '00 cherokee that needs to be replaced with 2-3k pickup and my wife DD's an '04 wrx. I do have an endless project NB miata, but a 997 turbo would be a stupid amount of awesome car for the $. The M3 will see around 1k miles/yr. Its so damn nice I hate to drive it more or do any mods etc. Now a 997 turbo…
Funny story. I was looking and a very good customer and great guy told me to drive his car to know what to look for. He said he'd never sell it. Not long after I gave up looking and a few weeks later he emailed me and said he found something else he really wanted and offered me the car. I couldn't pass it up.I didn't…
Agreed. I'd think you could probably get closer to 28-30 with some patience if you wanted to. I have a 31k mile jet black 06 ZCP manual no sunroof and its pretty hard to me to name a price. It would have to be enough to help get me into a driver/mid grade 997 turbo.
Yeah, I didn't realize that the sunroof delete was a big deal. My car is 06 zcp, manual, sunroof delete, jet back, 31k miles.
Plus, getting your mittens on one that hasn't been thrashed within inches of its useful life is probably harder than locating dry land on the bottom of the sea.
Yes, that place does look to be trying to set the market. My car would be near the top of the list and worth stupid $ according to them. I wonder how indicative their #'s are of the actual market. I do have quite a few people saying they will buy my car without even having named a price.
Context dude, context.
I know there were around 2400 ZCP coupes (some sources say 2200), less then half of them had a manual trans. I just got an incredibly nice very low mile 06 ZCP manual. Awesome.
Eh, I wouldn't sweat it. I deal with this stuff every day so its easy to chime in and get technical. Check out the kirkham "blank check" billet build. Car porn of the highest order.
That is coupe pricing, waaaay different then roadster pricing…. like $80k roller vs 175k roller. Add around 30-50k to each to complete the car. A real 289 street car is worth 500K in pieces, close to 1m drivable. Comp car, 1m+, comp car with history 2m+. Coupe… 10m+. "Closer" doesn't really mean much when dealing on…
Or a Shelby CSX, or a Superformance, or a Kirkham. The only ones anywhere close to the real things underneath are the Shelby CSX cobras and Kirkham (if you order it that way from Kirkham or spec the suspension etc yourself). FYI, Backdraft cobras are Z3 based.
Kirkhams are nowhere near the price of "real" cobras. Great cars though.
I just had a chance to buy a 30k mile e46 m3 that I couldn't pass up and the one issue I had was these stupid stereotypes. The one thing on that list that comes anywhere close to my behavior is parking way the hell in the back of the lot so I don't get door dings from some asshole in my nice new "look at it wrong and…
This guy is insanely lucky. He won the lotto (22m I think?), some big jackpot in vegas, a Shelby American Collection Museum fundraiser raffle car ('14 GT500) … and now this?
