FYI, the retail # in the article are wrong. Shelby raised them by 20k without really notifying the public. They leave that to the dealers, who in turn end up looking like they are price gouging.

Braces? We use 4 brackets in the OEM locations and then also bolt it down in the very back of the trunk area. The trunk lid is also heavily reinforced to handle a healthy wing or spoiler. More info at warhorse performance dot com.

We would like to, but first we need to see how sales of this top goes. We are also looking at doing simpler, much easier on/off, and less expensive version with a wrap around rear window (like an RX7 FD) and a slide out trunk.

Yeah, it certainly will be more involved then a windsor or LS swap!

Actually, no I didnt. My top also has a functioning trunk (stock trunk is removed) and gas door lid. It is not a 2 pc top where one section piggypbacks the other with 2 rear windows. It is a true open fastback with a hinged trunk that releases with the OEM trunk release lever.

I am more then prepared to widen out the frame rails. With that said, there was a 4.6 dohc shoehorned in an NA with crappy log manifolds. With that said.. the 5.0 coyote is 2 3/8" narrower then the 4.6 dohc.

Different company, Warhorse performance... which happens to be my company ;)

Oh boy, I could spend all day on this.

If they can get whoever designed the tail panel on board with the rest of the design team, it may turn out really nice. All of the current renders I've seen of the blocky square tail are awful and really dont fit in with the rest of the car. Its like the tail panel designer had absolutely no idea what the rest of the

I stand corrected. The engine design may be the only thing US about this car... the head, manifold and possibly even block castings (all part of Fords XE parts I'm guessing) may have been poured and machined in the UK as well. I will have to find out.

Well put.

The current owner bought it precisely because he didnt want to see it leave the US and get locked up. The family owns many of these high-end factory/team GT40s and Cobra's and has always felt strongly about this. It will be displayed at either Miller Motorsports Park, or the Shelby American Collection in Boulder CO.

The British Lola is still in there, yes... but in a very heavily revised (in the US) form. Its a hybrid much like the cobra.

OK, I should say "new", and it is available. I know of the italia and AK fb's quite well.

2nd gen aftermarket fastback/coupe top in the works.

Actually, there are a fair amount of original cobra owners who paid very little for their cars back when they were not worth very much. I'm talking under 10k. Some still drive them... some sit waiting to be "restored someday". Some of these owners are far from wealthy.

There is more to the story.

MT ran a 11.6@125.7 on stock tires the same day.
