Yup. That’s the failure I’m talking about. Not enough money for them, yet he’s still there.

They cut that much because they didn’t make enough money. If they didn’t make enough money, then doesn’t that responsibility fall on the guy at the top? That’s the failure I’m talking about. Just like how they cut the fat that they had because they allegedly didn’t pull their weight, shouldn’t he also be gone to?…
EA decided to jump into the spotlight, that’s all. Everyone (including me) forgot that Kotick exists.
That it apparently is. I’ll get there someday. Just need to dispose of the previous one first, I guess.
You see, I’m confused by your line of questioning here. Do you mean have I handled payroll itself? I can’t say I have. That’s handled by the actual people in payroll.
And that’s the stupid thing. Is what is though, you are right. I just still felt the need to bitch about them.
Now do you think he just lays in those millions like Scrooge McDuck? Or do you think he puts them into his pillow and cushions to get a better night’s sleep?
I wasn’t trying to compliment them. That’s basically how the company feels about them. They are fat, they are unwanted, so off they go. I may not exactly gotten how I wanted it to go across to go, but that is more or less what I was meaning with it.
If they hire new workers to fill the old, fine. I’d go along. Just the amount and the timing of “oh, hey, we’ve made record profits. Here’s your walking papers, have fun” to be a what the fuck moment.
I’m not saying they shouldn’t be compensated. If you have to cut that much of your workforce though, you’ve done a stupid job and should be fired. You never should be in a position that you cut like 1/10th of your workforce. Like 1-3% fine. It happens. Getting that high is like you are expecting a bad year or three…
And that’s the “fat”. The not enough part.
I humbly stand corrected for my incorrectness on that matter. Thank you for your correction.
True. Can’t say much to this one. It definitely is causing some action. For those laid off, it’ll help them out so well.
He’s making like what? 25 million? I don’t think any one person needs that much compensation. Especially when all he’s doing is the top level stuff. He’s not the guy who’s telling the programmer “hey, do this to make the game better”. He does move the needle, but it is those employees that make paper move for the…
I knew that there was something similar about this. Thank you! That was it. Definitely feels like that.
Oh, I know corporations aren’t people. That’s why I talked about the actual person who’s in charge (in directly) instead. That person is a person. Though I do get what you mean.
They’ve been pushing out all the developers who make things that players want. They’ve been pushing games as a service rather than games as games. Well, not just them but nearly all the big companies.
The yachts they own need yachts of their own indeed.
I’m not talking about the profits. I mean sacking because you shouldn’t ever need to layoff nearly 1/10 of your workforce unless you fucked up royally. That’s what should be the cause of a sacking.
So, you are telling me a guy who’s making millions of dollars has to layoff 8% of the work force isn’t a reason to be sacked? The company has been the most profitable it has ever been.
