yes, Lockheed is working on it right now. CAF-36, it’s a do all Cargo Attack Fighter. 40,000 pound cargo load with full fuel and external stores of 15,000 pounds. It’s also armed with a 5 inch canon for its CAS mission and can loiter above the battlefield for 8 hours on internal fuel.

that may be what it IS, but that’s not how they sold it. the sold it as the do everything jet. SEAD, CAP, CAS. and at some point CAP and SEAD will probably be ok, but this thing will never ever compare to an A-10 for CAS. It wasn’t specifically designed to help us crunchies on the ground.
