I get ya, but the conditions at Canadian horse feedlots and slaughterhouses are horrific. Also, many of the horses are purchased in the US and transported longdistance to Canada in shitty circumstances, without proper welfare or hygiene checks. I've seen some of this stuff first hand and it is a nasty, nasty trade.
