The problem is, those panels aren’t fiberglass. They’re a heavy-gauge injection molded plastic, not unlike you’d find on a kid’s toy dump truck. Those panels aren’t ever going to be made straight.

I feel like blind spot monitoring serves some beneficial assistance to the average driver. It requires them to be attentive enough to look in the mirrors to even use it.

Autopilot is a different story as it is giving drivers the confidence to not pay attention when it clearly should not be.

Hope to heck this guy doesn’t get any kind of special treatment from either Tesla or his insurance provider. If you’re in the driver’s seat of a car you need to be looking at the road ahead, not at your cellphone or your dick or whatever. That barrier could have been a schoolbus.

I am quickly becoming convinced that autopilot technology is the worst new automotive feature to be introduced this century. It doesn’t work perfectly, and it’s ideal for people to stop paying attention to the road.

Not a fan of any of these driving aids...self driving, blind spot, lane departure, etc...how about teaching people how to DRIVE?

its better pretty much in every case except for hard-core offroading. You probably wouldn’t buy one to turn into a rig. but, if you want something to live with and have off-road capability (maybe you like camping, own a ranch or cottage, etc). You aren’t stuck with abysmal FCA product quality.

The rotary is a perfectly fine design. Knobs that turn are the gold standard for many controls.
