Bandwidth is easy, but Einstein says latency-free satellite uplinks are not physically possible, no matter how much paypal money you throw at it.

My neck is jacked up. Sometimes I get steroid shots in my spine to try and calm everything down. Every time I do I have the hiccups for a like 4-5 days straight. It’s a hell of a tradeoff.

All spin bikes are fixed gear, connected to a weighted flywheel, with a mechanism of some kind to add extra resistance. That’s the whole point of a spin bike - it mimics riding a fixed gear bike on the road, which ancient cyclist legend says is a “better” workout somehow.

Except, coupes make sense in a certain niche. You want a small sleek sporty car, and rarely have passengers beyond a token hottie/hunk? You want a coupe. Need more utility but still want small? Hatchback or small wagon. Have a family? You want a bigger wagon or crossover (which we all know is just a wagon in heels

The Finns - they eat more per capita than any other European country. Helsinki is full of ice cream stands that open first thing, and nobody will even look twice if you have an enormous plate of soft serve for breakfast. I speak from experience.

It’s the old Russian saying: “Don’t be a pussy.”

OR has a front sticker and the meter maids will ticket you for it.

People move between Vancouver WA and Portland OR all the time. It’s like finding a Jersey plate in NYC. Also, people often lie about which side of the river they’re on, since PDX is seen as an easier place to sell something (no sales tax, more tech bros with disposable income, etc). Plenty of reasons to be suspicious

It’s done under general anesthetic, but imagine having all your toes cut off at the first knuckle - recovery is not going to be painless, and you will be permanently disfigured. The bigger issue, honestly, is that it also tends to cause behavior problems later on - a declawed cat will often feel defenseless and try to

Why not? It’s out of warranty, therefor it’s older/has some miles and might benefit from a shorter service interval. Or maybe he just enjoys working on it? That’s a good enough reason for me.

The Paradox learning curve?

Tie rod ends: best to hit the knuckle from BOTH sides with two hammers. You don’t even need a big hammer. It’s all about matching the blows so the knuckle flexes a tiny bit and taper just drops right out - I usually just use a pair of small framing hammers or ball peens.

Downhill is the only UCI discipline worth paying any attention to at all anymore. If Gwin or the Athertons go down in one of these scandals, I’ll lose all hope.

Mazda3 is very high on our shortlist of potential replacements for our Golf. We’ll probably test that, the Mini Clubman, and maybe a Focus ST. About the only way I see us with another VW is if they just straight up gave us a new GTI.

Often millwork was completely custom - each guy working 80 or 100 years ago would have his own set of knives and make his own profile for everything. So if you want to match those beautiful old mahogany baseboards you often have only two options: pay a fortune to have custom knives made to match your existing

Oh, it's been done, and bigger. Google Land Rover 4BT swaps for giggles.

The Rover 2.25 diesel never got a turbo. This is almost certainly a 2.5TD, which was a huge improvement in power over the old 2.25d, but still pretty notorious for busting cranks.

As a bearded TDI owner in Portland, I will be waiting until tomorrow morning to actually yell that out my window.

It’s incredibly difficult with dementia’s though. One of the first things lost to disease is executive function, which is critical to making exactly that kind of decision. In fact one of the cruel ironies of dementia is that the patient often loses the ability to recognize their own illness very early on, and resent

I went through this with my mother, who was diagnosed in her early 50's, just a year or two after my father had passed away suddenly. At first we thought she just wasn’t bouncing back from losing him, but it became clear soon enough something much worse was happening. It’s an awful awful process.
