well, that's b/c you rarely see interviews with politicians who aren't running and give no fucks.

Craig Ferguson would have a real conversation occasionally. His show was so loose and improvised, it often would break down into honesty

What about David Allen Coe and George "No Show" Jones? Next thing you know, just for symmetry, BET will let Kid Rock host a similar event for Grandmaster Flash.

Isabella Rosselini and Helen Mirren aside, Lily Tomlin was lucky to have the heyday she had. She was never going to rule romantic comedies, dramas, or genre films. And don't give me the "but she's funny!" bit - the best that'll get you is Eileen Brennan/Madeleine Kahn's careers.

well, come the 5th of November, i'll have to remember to pre-order tickets to SPECTRE instead of this shit.

oh of course - that opera scene…i'm pretty sure *I* could've shot it. Edit it as prettily, maybe not…

QoS has a some OK action in it - the fight in the guy's hotel room is particularly Bourne-y and cool. But yeah, lots of quick cutting in those car & foot chases that open the film.

the Renner movie is fine until they leave her house. After that, it's a lot of padding (guys in the war room saying the same thing over and over again on the phones), and travel stuff. And the "final boss" is fine, but by then it all just seems too long and not quite good enough.

i did a CTRL+F for "dusklight" and am not disappointed. I am never sure how to spell "friscilating".

i kinda get it for first-run, newer stuff. licensing fees are higher, and no one else has it (except Amazon/itunes pay-per-episode). But older stuff usually just has one commercial at the beginning, and movies have either one or none.

yeah, i'm about ready to kill the widowed father of 2 girls from the Liberty Mutual ads.

as a cord-cutter, Hulu is essentially my on-demand service. and while you can't FF thru them, it's fewer commercials than broadcast.

i like the show, but i gave up on her podcast after a couple episodes. i just don't need someone rambling for 20min over a twee ukulele (?) track. i FF'd to the guest (i think it was Patton Oswalt?) after realizing she was just doing some impression of a Sex & The City voiceover. The discussion with the guest was

he's a fine actor, and i like a lot of his movies, but even in his one action movie - Jaws - he disappears for the last 15min!

Richard Dreyfus: Action Master

i've never read the book, so i'm really loving the TV version - so much more detail and room for characters to grow. But until now, i'm one of those poor fools who likes both versions. Yes, Red Dragon focuses too much on Lecter, but Fiennes is so great in his role (and PSH as Freddy).

i love that Ghost in a Jar replies "Boo Rah" to Reverse Giraffe's mention of saving his life in Vietnam.

yeah, or at least delete the 'a man who could kill that girl with one punch' line. that's the only real mention of Reacher's supposed size in the movie.

it actually does play like a feature-length episode of NCIS. just like Mark Harmon in that show, Jack Reacher is the best man in the room at everything at all times.

then you missed all the good parts.
