why couldn't he have paraphrased the award acceptance speech/eulogy from Brian's Song? "I love dancing. And when you hit your feet tonight, ask God that he might love dancing too!"

"…the first late-night talk show to premiere outside of the broadcast networks". Did Chelsea Lately debut before the Daily Show? I realize Politically Incorrect isn't really a "talk show", but Comedy Central had a few. Adam Carolla had Too Late, and Allan Havey had a show there before the merger. Not to mention

just rewatched Manhunter, and all the characters are there: Abrams', Thompson's, and Park's roles are all on Crawford's team. I wonder if they'll break canon and kill Park's character before getting to the Tooth Fairy case.

I gotta say: Gilliam's idea makes no sense. In the book, Manhattan has a very "matter of fact" way of viewing time. He can't TRAVEL through time, and he can't change anything - even the FUTURE, of which he essentially has foreknowledge. He certainly can't (or wouldn't) change the past.

so….no "Players Club" NNF review? Mike schmidt rocked the place. It was hilarious.

it's also available on Amazon Prime (for free)

yeah, do we know who that rapper is? i know Harmon will freestyle on his podcast, but this voice sounded different. I didn't see anyone in the voice cast that i'd suspect…

this movie rules. along with Let It Ride and Diggstown, this was a VHS-rental favorite in my family. Also, the movies are all largely unknown to today's audiences - even people who were aroudn then. THey just don't get played on cable enough, even though Sneakers is a perfect TNT/TBS movie

i agree this episode is #1, but they all have great bits. Rick Potion #9 had that hilarious quotables "What am i, a hack?" "Mate with me for LIFE!" "We really Cronenberged up the world with a bunch of Cronenbergs". "We only get to do this 3 or 4 more times, tops."

so….are we just not covering the NNF Players Club? I mean, sure, it's behind the paywall, but so were the old NNF episodes that were getting reviewed. This week: Mike Schmidt, looking good!

May i humbly nominate: Kolchak the Night Stalker - currently all 20-some episodes are on Netflix Instant. As far as i can tell, none of the TV-movies are there, though.

loved this movie, if only for the "mouse pissing on cotton" dialogue. This is the most-Mamet-ish of movies, where he let himself overindulge (much like Tony Scott did on Domino) - after this, he dialed his style back ever so slightly, and perfected it (Spartan, The Unit, even Redbelt are less obviously overwritten).
