The recent surge in COVID is a direct result of removing the mask mandates, especially on planes and trains. Fully 2/3 of the people I know who have flown in the last 3 months have tested positive for COVID within 6 days of flying. And most of them were wearing their masks, though 90% of people on planes no longer do.
