Sega really needs to stop trying to make 3d movement Sonic work. Why couldn’t they have done this as a sidescroller? All of this could have worked in that setting, and you wouldn’t have to submit the people that love Sonic to the torture of having to navigate him in a 3d space.

I think what bothers me most is like... why do we need an environment with photorealistic textures and natural-looking plant life? Our first exposure to Sonic was with colorful cartoony worlds and geometric palm trees and the overall cartoony look of Sonic himself just doesn’t vibe with his environment.

Netease developed it, yes, but that in no way, shape, or form frees Blizzard from responsibility. It’s their IP, they’re the publishers, and they clearly worked closely with Netease on integrating Diablo lore and themes/visuals into the game.
