Give Delicious Donuts a try on Burnside and Grand. Really straightforward donuts done very well.  If you get their fritters when they’re still warm, it will change your life.

Psst, we can see this comment.  Add your thoughts here.

These guys are going to be pissed when they find out what this asshole did to their friend.

Looked so much better upright.  I like the font a lot more, too.  And I miss Jeff Lamp.

Not a big fan of 50 licks, but I’ll have to try Cloud City. Thanks.

I’ve heard they’ll even give you a cone!

And with a name like Camper English.

It’s okay, and they have interesting combinations. But the lines aren’t worth it and there are other places with great ice cream like Ruby Jewel, Scoop, and Handel’s in the suburbs.

Can’t get much more Portland/twee than Queen Bee. I’m convinced this is where Portlandia got the idea for “put a bird on it.”

There’s probably something to this. In Chuck Palahniuk’s fun guide to Portland, Fugitives & Refugees, he says Glisan is supposed to be pronounced glisten even though everyone I’ve ever known for decades living here pronounces it glee-son.

And get the tots at Boxer. Mmmm.

I like to be called a little person. And you run funny.

Distillery Row is really underrated.  New Deal vodka is very good.

That one’s in NE, barely. Which brings up the chance to explain to visitors that Burnside divides N/S. The Willamette (Will-AM-it) divides E/W and North is the “5th” quadrant.

So many incredible restaurants: Kachka, Mae, Nodoguro, Langbaan, Podnah’s, any of Gorham’s places (Toro Bravo, Tasty, etc.), lots of great ramen. Some of those require reservations months in advance.

Nah, s/he was right the first time.

Yep. Surprised people still line up for those pink boxes since there are plenty of us explaining that they aren’t good.  If I want standard donuts done well, I’ll go to Delicious Donuts just over the Burnside Bridge on Grand.

What collision. No collision. PITCH HUNT!

Should have taken a different road.
