What you point out is true, certainly. But I was born in the early '60s, in a Mid-Atlantic state, and was raised in an prosperous, educated family, among educated friends. That quasi-Britsih accent was almost extinct as long ago as the early '70s.

That's what I mean. Oh, they call it "smart," but Americans are very free with compliments.

I worked at our local newspaper when Willie played at our county fair. The reporter got a contact high from an interview with him. She loved it.

I know someone who lost a child to cancer. We are close. The greatest thing she and her husband did for their child was let her die when it was no longer possible to truly help her. Their daughter lived longer than anyone expected and died at home, surrounded by family and friends.

Not in my family. We're tragically white and blue eyed. I know lots and lots and lots and lots of pale people who conceive easily. The population where I live is German descended. But families are large.

They won't, I agree. Do NOT underestimate the Mormon thing out here in flyover country. Evangelical churches compete with Mormons for members. They demonize Mormons as cultists on a regular basis.
