I miss Austin… Such a great city. If you're looking for friendly, Austin definitely fits the bill. So much to do, too. (I lived there for about five years after college.)

Troglodytes gotta evolve on their own!
Yup… and she tours A LOT and plays a ton of festivals. Makes it really easy to see her. I was more of an RK fan, but I've still seen her live at least four times (2x with the Watson twins, 1x as Jenny & Johnny, 1x with NAF).
Are you my friend? He says he doesn't go to concerts because he doesn't like feeling like "everyone else is having a better time than me."
Love Robyn Hitchcock… so great live. Need to get Gillian Welch tickets; thanks for the reminder!
I saw him back in 06 at ACL Fest—the performance where his nose started bleeding and he asked for a tampon from the audience (he put it in his nose and kept playing for a few songs). Then he moved to Austin around the time I did, and he played a lot of free shows. Always a good time!
I was excited about seeing the White Stripes and then the whole Meg White "sex tape" nervous breakdown happened, so they pulled out of ACL Fest. Was also supposed to see Grandaddy in May (tour cancelled because of a band member's death, RIP), and GBV broke up (again) right before Fun Fun Fun Fest a few years ago. Just…
Saw him once at ACL Fest years ago… my cousin and I waited by the stage for hours so we could get nice and close. So great.
Tear… RK and Tilly were my high school favorites. Would have loved to have seen them live. (Seen Jenny live at least six times).
Love 'em! Finally saw 'em last year (with X and the Blasters, both of whom I'd seen before a few times). They were great, as expected, but the Microsoft Theater or whatever it's called really sucks.
For me, it's gotta be X and various solo shows/projects by its members. (Nevermind the fact that I was born long after Los Angeles was released.) They tour all the time, and my boyfriend and I always love going to see 'em. (The fact that we lived in Austin, a place they made it to frequently, and now are back in L.A.…
I get so weirded out if the HBO logo/static isn't followed with the theme song.
Total fucking Mexico.
Crazy! I saw them open for either the Blasters or John Doe or the Red Elvises a few years back at the Continental Club. Thought they were great!
Convenient, well-packaged junk food?
YES. That's the thing that really annoys me about this band too. (I also feel like this about Father John Misty, whose lyrics may be innovative but his music is pretty bland and his persona is insufferable, which annoys me even if it is deliberate.)
Few relationships are forever… Even people who are perfectly suited to one another often end things eventually for one reason or another. Relationships with others aren't permanent, even if they're really good relationships. So make sure to invest in yourself and your friends and your interests, and don't regard…
THIS! I have depression/anxiety, and for years, I thought a partner would complete me. Guess what? I've had an awesome understanding partner for years, but it didn't cure my depression. Prozac and talk therapy did a lot for me, but surrounding myself with a network of loving friends is probably the most important…
That last thing is so important! Play it cool; please don't apologize for asking her out. And don't blame yourself/feel bad. You were brave to ask her out (seriously, good job), and you knew going into it that it wasn't a sure thing (it never is, but especially in these situations). Apologizing will only betray your…
Poor kid… stumbled across her Tumblr, and it definitely seems like there's a LOT of dark stuff in her life. Hope she's found safely. She needs to be with family now.
