This my daily use mount. The thing sticks to the windshield like nobody’s business. It’s amazing how well it’s attached. When fully extended, it can be a little jittery, but it’s not like I’m reading email on it (no, I would never do that).

These are awesome, but I left mine in a rental and haven’t replaced it yet.

Well then what are you waiting for? Buy a Roku so the rest of us can start using Chromecast.

From the title, I was thinking “put alka-seltzer in the batter? sounds odd” :)

Yeah, that would work, but what I would like to do is hang the reel up high and then have it auto-retract. I don’t really want it taking up space down where it can be reached to crank. I guess I’m being too picky.

Anyone know a good air-hose reel that doesn’t include the air hose? I have a couple of 50’ air hoses, so I’d prefer to be able to use them. I’m not having luck finding one (that isn’t crazy expensive). I have a feeling I’m going to have to break down and get the full package.

This one isn’t, the source link (cooks illustrated) doesn’t have any pre-loaded ads, just here.

Just as an FYI, your abnormally long advertisements that are put in front of the video, are driving me away from watching stuff here and going direct to the source. I assume that’s bad for your revenue. At some point, I just won’t bother clicking on videos on a kinja property.

The ad to see the video is 3:25 long! WTF.

I would do this, but I don’t want to get the autism.

Interesting, I hadn’t heard that.

I’m going to try this. I’ve always used the back side of my cleaver to tap around the circumference (rotate, crack, rotate, crack...) That method works fine, but your method sounds easier. Do you drain the liquid first or just do it over a bowl or something?

Pretty funny. I hadn’t heard of him, so I started looking him up. Based on Google’s auto-suggestions, I’m guessing he’s a guy who creates strong opinions (not necessarily a bad thing). I typed “lyle mc” and the first two suggestions were:
lyle mcdonald
lyle mcdouchebag

My mother does this, but she blanches and peels them first. Makes them easier to use in a sauce or whatever when you thaw them out later.

Definitely creates a different texture to the egg. I’ve tried that a couple times. I end up preferring the old traditional (the way mom cooked) very hard scramble, but your method works great if you like that texture.

I like lots of runny yolk, so my preference is over easy in a high heat pan. Cook on one side long enough that it won’t fall apart when you turn it. Turn off the heat, flip to the other side, let sit for a few seconds, then take it out. Just enough time to cook all the white and leave as much yolk uncooked as

Thinking of how my mother uses her computer, I completely agree with you.

Yeah, I expect that’s how I’ll feel when I visit.

New Zealand for me, I already look a little bit like a hobbit (hair on my toe knuckles and everything) so I think I’ll fit right in.

Are there any companies that do that? Every “free trial” I’ve ever seen has been auto-renewed at the end of the period.
