My wife and I just converted an un-conditioned porch (but fully enclosed) into a walk-in closet and bathroom (fully tiled shower). We did it almost entirely ourselves (had a tile guy start the shower and show us how to finish). We did the whole thing for probably around $3K (I'm thinking less). It boggles my mind

Any idea what kind of bandwidth difference this represents over simply streaming the music? I'm assuming you're not sitting there watching all the video's, you're just using it as a way to discover new music, listening in the background, etc. Also assuming it will use up more bandwidth to stream a video with music

Or in the van that calmly drove right on past the scene.

Just like to correct the title of this article:

How to fix dry (or wet) rot in a subfloor (i.e. remodeling a bathroom, found some water damage or, found dry rot under a door, how to repair)

It's really disheartening to see so many commenters making some kind of comment about the negotiating based on the monthly cost of the financing. DON'T DO THAT. I'm not suggesting you don't consider it personally, obviously that's a significant way to measure what you can afford. Just don't go in thinking that's

Admittedly, I live in the sticks, but every time I've gone to a Comcast office, it's been great. Friendly people, only 1 or two people in line (if that) and no jerking around with all the high pressure sales stuff.

How about someone else's toenails?

So I guess I shouldn't use the remote start on my truck on a hot day to have it cooled off a bit before I get in (or a cold day, to warm it up).

I like that on a ritz cracker.

Yeah, for some reason, I can eat those in small-ish doses. I'm thinking of what my dad loved when I was a kid. The horrid smell of liver and onions cooking. Oh man, gross as hell.

For some of us, the only thing we can say about the taste of liver is some variation of "blech". In a survival situation, I'd eat it and by happy to, the rest of the time...pass

Looks to me like he hit the brakes just before the landing. The change in angular momentum tipped the front end down, then he impacted. I don't know if not hitting the brakes would have changed the outcome (or how much the brakes impact the angle of a car vs a motorcycle). Motocross guys do this all the time when

I wouldn't go so far as to say "it's not possible", given that humanity survived just fine without it prior to it's invention. Having said that, you can take my A/C from my cold dead fingers. I live in the south, no A/C would SUCK

I'd like to see a list like this for Linux server (no desktop, just command line access). What tools do you server admins regularly put on your linux systems?

I could totally see my cat (or my own wayward hand) tipping over a glass of water right into the top of that thing. Great way to burn several thousand dollars.

So how do you figure out what that thing is that you're passionate about? You have a job you can do, but that you find boring. There's no thing that makes you excited...that you can't wait to get home to start working on, etc. "Find your passion" is good and all, it's the How part that's tricky.

To be fair, sometimes it's not that easy :)

I think I've figured out what happened here. For a brief period, Portland was physically transported to Florida.
