I really just think The Irishman was hamstrung by having De Niro play a man who was decades younger than he is, “de-aging” technology or no. Of course you want De Niro as the elder character, but why not just cast another actor as the younger version? It worked for The Godfather Part II - with De Niro!

I am an acolyte of Malick so obviously I’m biased but all of his 2010s movies were critically underrated, especially Song to Song. Even aside from all of his usual visual and thematic interests, it’s a remarkable portrayal of two people falling into and out of love.

I think you guys are seriously overstating whatever small problem it will be finding a place for it. It’s not a bigger volume than PS4 and plenty of people will have natural places to put it near their TVs.

Nerds make death threats against the “enemies” of nerd culture all the time. I’ve never ever heard of someone making a death threat in defense of the need for adult entertainment.

Besides, the “most financially successful films” of earlier eras didn’t need any particular organized “defense”; they were doing just fine what with all the money.
