Which citizens? The ones that buy them or the ones that end up getting injured or killed by people who should not have been able to purchase a gun? Like the guy this article is about.

Big whoop. The NFL has an undefeated in the playoffs team EVERY SINGLE YEAR!

So funny thing. My wife and I both, maybe overly so, say please and thank you for everything. We were raised to do so. The funny thing is that we’ve both noticed that in recent years, our parents (over 60, one over 70) have gotten much less inclined to say ‘please’ or ‘thank you’. We often comment how rude our parents

They’ve been talking about it since late 2015. I’ve had an Android Auto head unit since about August of 2015 and remember shortly thereafter reading about it. I’ve since moved back to iOS (a few weeks ago actually) after my Nexus 6 finally gave up the ghost.

Its only been like 3 years since it was promised. Plus, Waze is still a Google owned app. Its not opened to true 3rd parties.

Google isn’t their biggest music competitor. Spotify is in terms of streaming subscriptions, and Pandora in terms of streaming overall. Yet, both of those apps are on CarPlay. Spotify has 50 Million subscribers.

Waze is something that lots of people would rather use. They’ve been saying that Waze is coming to Android Auto for years, but it hasn’t shown up yet.

Right, but thats not on Apple. That’s on Google. At least for Google Music. I don’t know if the Maps portion is available. Even on Android Auto, you can ONLY use Google Maps.

No, thats completely incorrect. There’s a complete UI for 3rd party apps. Here is Pandora’s:

Except that you can use 3rd party apps with carplay. Pocket Casts works, NPR One, Pandora, Amazon Music, and Spotify all work with Carplay. Its more up to the app developer to make it work than it is Apple not letting them. Blame Google for not adding support, not Apple.

There is wireless carplay now. I don’t know if its actually implemented on any cars yet, but its a thing.

Android Auto has done this since day 1. Once Android Auto is connected, you can’t hit the home button or or back button and the app switcher icon disappears. Not sure what the hullabaloo is about.

Especially because people forget that once you’re cruising, the turbo isn’t DOING anything, even at high RPMs. If you’re doing 80mph on the highway consistently, your turbo is just freewheeling. Its not getting hot, its not putting extra pressure into the cylinders. Its just ... there.

Is it expensive? I mean, after about 5 years, you could get known good used turbos for the VW 1.8T’s for like $250-300 and new ones for about $800. And it took roughly 2-3 hours if you knew what you were doing to swap them out and be back up and running. I don’t think thats too crazy, really.

I think the thing is, most people don’t keep cars for 15 years, so most new car buyers don’t care. And lets be honest, we’re making ALL cars, even N/A ones, more complex. Hybrids, electric, N/A with super high compression direct injection, CVTs, everything is more and more complex. You can make the argument that a V8

However, lets also remember that a 1.5L motor that makes low end torque has a SMALL turbo on it, that by the time you’re hitting 5500+RPM, that turbo is out of breath and no longer pumping nearly as much air into the cylinders.

That doesn’t look like a toddler... that looks like a friggan infant to me.

Its not important that its untouched. Its important that you don’t SAY its untouched unless it is. Thats the difference. There’s nothing wrong with a replica or a knock off so long as you KNOW what it is. There’s no fraud involved.

I think the outrage is that there are so many scummy lying car salesman and car dealerships out there. Just go read the threads on ‘worst dealership stories’ to understand some of the hatred.

They hate us cuz they anus.
