The casting for that movie was perfection and worked within the context of who the characters were meant to be.  I’m having a hard time with Scott as Ripley for that reason alone - a father sends anyone to collect a 40-something son from Italy?  Or is Dickie supposed to be younger than Tom?  This and other reviews

my character being picked apart by people who don’t know me and disrespecting my name. I didn’t sign up for this shit

I seem to recall this being focused on her “theater kid energy” co-hosting the Oscars, which I remember as her valiantly doing the work of 2 people bc her co-host was seemingly high/unfunny/disengaged.

Sure, there were snubs (Lily Gladstone)

A pity, considering how horribly the movie has aged.

He probably has better (read: more expensive) lawyers.

Why does Barsanti constantly write like this? What is the point of this first paragraph?

Well, thank God we have you around, to inform us “dudes” how we “missed the point entirely.” I guess, if I had a quibble, you could have explained what you think Johnson is actually saying, since everybody but you has it so wrong, but I wouldn’t want to intrude on your genius.

I’ve re-watched S1 several times in the last ten years, and it’s still my favorite miniseries of all time. I have not re-watched any of the subsequent seasons, nor will I ever re-watch S4. They are just not the same quality of writing, acting, directing, or production. I don’t care who is at the helm, or what sex they

I’m actually happy. This means I can skip it and not waste my time.

Your comment reads like a bona fide Coen Brothers character wrote it. Self-assured, saying nothing (smart), but confident you’re the smartest person in the room.

Can we not with this immediately revisionist “But that’s what they were going for” nonsense? No they were not, nothing about this movie was intentional.

Dude, it’s not about ‘gaffes’. I myself have always been pretty dismissive of faux outrage whenever a politician (always on the opposite side of the political isle of course) misspeaks, especially if it’s the kind of mistake ordinary people routinely make.

This is completely different. Literally anyone with eyes, ears

“Old school” in the sense that The Marvels is a by-the-numbers MCU movie that we’ve all seen twenty times already?

Seems legit

I finally watched The Marvels yesterday. It was awful, not quite as bad as Quantummania, but awful nonetheless. In my opinion, mainline Marvel is dead. I’m glad the Spider-Verse films continue to innovate and the Deadpool trailer looked promising but I’m finally throwing in the towel on the MCU (bar Deadpool probably).

face the truth nerd. it’s over

Lol, comment section here is exactly what I expected.

A bunch of whining that “the stakes are too high” to make fun of Joe Biden. Once again: it is not the media’s job, nor has it ever been the media’s job, to overlook the flaws in your favorite candidate just because you view it as necessary for the greater good. If

Is this review a joke? Even aside from thE fact that pretty much everyone else is saying that it’s terrible (52 on Metacritic even with it having a perfect score from this review).... please explain how a movie that is assembled entirely of parts from other movies, including some that you don’t mention and/or don’t

She might be many things but a compelling protagonist isn’t one of them.
