Total “gotcha” questions. Why would the leader of the free world need to find Iraq on a map? He has missiles for that!

Oh man I really want this to happen so bad. It would be like when buzzfeed gives those US state maps to people in the UK and Australia except for how it’s reasonable for those people to not know the states.

I truly love watching this dimwit crash and burn.

Oh totally. Now in my 30th year, I actually am slightly more invested in the adult story lines. Poor, misunderstood Patty.

oh god, I know EXACTLY how you feel! I was around 13ish when i watched it and desperately wanted to make it my life.

Just looking at this picture makes me feel homesick for a life I FELT I was living through Angela. Holy god that show was so, so meaningful to me as a teen.

This fucking show. How can one season of one show be so perfect at every turn? The episode where Bill’s mom gets with Biff—there's a montage where bill gets home after school, makes his snacks and watches his shows and is laughing. That scene is so perfect, so imbued with joy and innocence, I fucking cry every time

Yeah Kim was pretty mean. All the characters were quite flawed, even the younger boys (Neil in particular was kind of a smarmy douche).

One thing (among many) that I loved about this show is how it refused to treat characters we’ve been trained by dull TV to expect to be one-dimensional as such. Like the bully who secretly loves Star Trek, or the jocular gym teacher (inspired casting of Tom Wilson, btw) who actually does care about the “weaker” and

It’s totally Rashida Jones and Kim destroys her somehow (does she write «slut» on her locker?) all the while kind of rescuing Sam in the process and it’s glorious because the Rashida character is a turd ;-)

This is a really good piece. Never put much thought into their relationship but looking back, yes I’ve had Kim Kelly friends, and I’ve been Kim Kelly to other people.

That’s fair but your description still doesn’t fit Kim all that much.

Sounds like you are a Millie who had a Lindsay. Kim was ultimately a pretty loyal person. It was Lindsay who dropped friends or turned on her brother when it suited her.

You also learn in Kim Kelly is My Friend that there is someone more terrifying than Kim Kelly and that is Karen.

Fuck yes!! I am proud to say that Freaks and Geeks was one of the few things I was actually ahead of the curve on: I watched it when it was on actual television in 1999-2000. I remember being SO BUMMED when NBC pulled “Kim Kelly is my friend” without explanation (it never aired on TV; I saw it for the first time when

Lindsay was far more the friend you are describing than Kim ever was. More to Millie than Kim but also to Kim (whose boyfriend she would have bagged in a second).

When Linsday eggs her little brother on Hallowe’en I could’ve cried. The way that kid’s whole life looked like it was crashing down around him when he realized it was his big sister? My heart, it breaks. They were wonderful little actors.

The scene where Bill drinks beer out of the commemorative helmet cup they give at baseball games is one of my favorite things I’ve ever seen.

The younger ones were SO WISE and SO KIND when everyone else was being a total b-hole.

I liked her better when she was called Rayanne Graff!!
