Although Warren Ellis' The Authority and Planetary seemed to subvert those tropes to a degree.

Stan Lee says they do it to make character names easy to remember, mostly for himself but you get to benefit too.

I know it's a TV show but how on earth would Lucy suddenly be made head of the DEO over say someone already working there or someone sufficiently senior in the military. They even told all of her staff without even informing her that they gave her the job.

I didn't get why they made Harper such a dick considering he was Kirby's attempt to (loosely) create Captain America for DC. Sacrilege!

Also why was Col. Harper in dress blues. I have worked around US Marines and never seen them in dress blues for administrative duties. Am I missing something here?

There was a documentary years ago by Native Americans on this same issue. More than a few Native Americans are apparently rejected from roles because they don't look like the Hollywood perception of "Indian".

It can be if you put it there yourself.

Surprised no one's mentioned the quote "…better chance of picking up a turd by the clean end."

Particularly since Daryl and Rosita took all the drugs in the pharmacy they didn't even need her there.

When characters do that I always think who's going to pay to replace those lights. Pretty sure the probably slum lord owner won't get around to it any time soon. And hence my shameless plug for a Damage Control TV show.

I don't think those were Punisher victims (his victims tend not to survive to reach the hospital). I thought they mentioned there was a clash between two rival gangs.

Key to note that this is the first live action depiction where Punisher is actually a former soldier and not a former cop. Why did this take so long.

No spoilers but this is intential.

As implausible as they would be to coordinate in real life, T-bones on TV are always intentional.

I remember it from the anime series (loosely) based on the story when I was a kid.

Figured as much. Just like we'll never see the green, bug-eyed Hydra jumpsuits or the yellow, bee-keeper A.I.M. onesies.

I was confused by May doing that. Why would Creel suddenly take on the properties of the tire iron. Isn't his power voluntary otherwise he would constantly be taking on the properties of his clothes or the ground or whatever he was touching.

Wonder if they'll wear the doofy orange and purple outfits. As much as I hated the John Walker Captain America (U.S. Agent) I thoroughly enjoyed him going all Brock Samson on a room full of Watchdogs.

I wasn't crying. My eyes were sweating real bad.

The Cat throw off the building coupled with the Cersei Lannister "power" speech was when this episode shifted into GoAT for me. Holy Hell…that scene was…disturbing.
