Please don't universalize your own obliviousness. Trans rights were very much on the radar by the 90s. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wi…, listing about 20 different mainstream movies and TV shows with trans characters in the 1980s and 1990s. Just because you were asleep doesn't mean everyone else was.

Just the movie itself, which is notorious among trans people for being one of the more disgustingly transphobic movies ever made. But the reasons for that are obviously beyond your comprehension.

Ed Gein's crimes had nothing to do with cross-sex identification.

People complained extensively about Birth of a Nation when it first came out. There were boycotts and demonstrations. Same with Mickey Rooney's character in Breakfast at Tiffany's. Then and ever since.

I hope they do change it. Most people absolutely hated the third book.

Same here, at least at the moment.

I'm actually kind of surprised that there's never been a "Young Hitler" movie. I can see it being justified with that kind of reasoning.

Of course it has a lot to do with that, regardless of whether they identify as men (and not all of them do). There are a lot of viewers who get excessively attached to the pretty ones — Valentina, Pearl, and others — and attack the ones who aren't seen that way, like Aja.

Nonsense. She knew about the harassment; she knew about the continual racism directed by her fans at Nina and Shea and Peppermint; she was asked by the other queens to plead with her fans to stop — as others have done in the past — and she said nothing. And her excuse that she doesn't involve herself in social media

I think it came out on Untucked more than on the show itself.

You can't recall??? That was what the entire last part of it was all about!

After reading about the finale and what supposedly happened, you can definitely spot who's bitter.

Jasmine made some seriously transphobic comments that were widely publicized. So she obviously didn't deserve the way people treated her, but those comments were really bad. AlthoughI believe she walked back on them later.

That stuff was mostly from the fans of Pearl, Violet, Fame, etc., wasn't it?

That was mostly not from Katya's fans, as I recall. It was, throughout the season, mostly from the fans of Pearl and Violet and Fame, etc., who were complaining all the time about how "ugly" Kennedy was. But Katya did speak up and ask her fans to stop harassing Kennedy after she was eliminated. Just like Valentina

Ivy Winters won MC, and I don't think she was a fan favorite.

To Wong Foo is a mediocre movie, a ripoff of Priscilla. Your father had bad taste. If that's all you think drag is, no wonder you don't get RPDR.

I don't think it's fair to say that she barely knew Henry Fonda and Vincent Price, both of whom co-starred with her. (On the other hand, it's kind of hard to believe that she had crossed paths too often with Howard Cosell, Nipsey Russell, etc.!)

I don't think there's anything indeterminate about Felcher's accent. It sounds to me very much like an Eastern European Yiddish accent, so I take the character as a Jewish gangster.

Warsaw Ghetto uprising: not the same thing as the Warsaw uprising a year later. And I'm waiting to hear why the Warsaw Ghetto uprising was a bad thing, At least they didn't end up in gas chambers or starving to death, as would otherwise have happened.
