The problem is that the BSA has been dick-waving for decades while the GSA has truly stepped up in inclusivity and empowerment

I was a kid in the 80s and Girl Scouts was the only time in my life that I saw and was encouraged to emulate women in leadership roles. Girl Scouts are girls and women. There is no one to talk over us, mansplain to us, or condescend to us. That is INCREDIBLY valuable and the reason my daughter is a Girl Scout and will…
The Silver Award in Girl Scouts is about equivalent to Eagle. However, Girl Scouts offer awards *beyond* Silver that are more involved and take greater leadership skill demonstration than Eagle does. But how many folks have heard of the Gold Award?
Because GSUSA doesn’t want to merge.
Right? This is so weird, I feel like it undermines their entire argument and solidifies the GSA’s assessment that they are only doing it to bolster their numbers.
I won’t let my son join Boy Scouts because of their political regressiveness. If I had a daughter, she wouldn’t be allowed to join either.
The Girl Scouts are vastly superior to the Boy Scouts in every way.
Duck measuring sounds quackers.
WHERE’S MY TORCH AND PITCHFORK
I know I’m meant to be horrified by this government overreach, but sofar I haven’t read a story in which I would want the officials to act substantially differently. Could they be nicer? Sure. But do you really want an official investigating a baby with an unexplainable skull fracture to drop it? “Oh well! This 7…
I actually liked this story a lot more and felt it was a really balanced take. I can see it from the CPS perspective too, like wtf, this kid has a skull fracture and the parents don’t know why or how? I actually think if she had dropped him (instead of the shitty friend who didn’t even come clean right away) and taken…
The top story is the first one in this entire series that didn’t nauseate me and make me feel like we were supposed to sympathize with child abuse.
These stories are FAR more sympathetic than the last few, esp the one about the mom who hit her kid with a belt.
1. He was arrested and tried by the same people he was successfully suing for millions of dollars for falsely incarcerating him. These same people became aware of exonerating information and swept it under the rug so that Mr. Avery remained in prison for a rape he didn’t commit and had a solid alibi for.
I was thinking about his civil rights activism. To me, it seems that it all worked to serve men. He fought for sexual freedom (for men to freely enjoy women), he fought for women to get the pill (so that pregnancies wouldn’t hinder men’s sexual activities with women and men wouldn’t have to worry about being…
I think, in general, humanities degrees should return to where they were in the 19th Century: For people rich enough they don’t need to be economically productive. It’s a shame so much of university life is centered around “traditional” majors that don’t serve society’s need for an educated workforce. English and…
Jesse Watters is what you get when you haven’t been famous enough to get sued for sexual harassment yet.
That racist judge is a brunette.
I’ve been hoping for True West, to continue the Kanye compass.
It’s good that Cheeto Hitler finally did the right thing, but, my God. Only a monster who lives in a gold-plated bubble would have dithered for days, worried about protecting the interests of his wealthy buddies in shipping, while sick, elderly, and other vulnerable Americans drop dead from lack of electricity,…
