I'd love to know why the REENACTMENT was filmed in Vaseline-O-Vision in 1994.

This franchise has just gotten so weird and WTF lately. I'm only still watching because I think Marquel is kinda hot (and one of the white guys, but tbh I can't really tell them apart) and because I have a soft spot for Crazy Clare and her antics.
Yesterday, Ms. Bluestone caught a lot of ire on Gawker because she didn't post Christy Mack's vocation on the headline. Today she did, and yep, more flack. I'm pretty sure they can't win sometimes.
I HATE when I see couples and the girls all like, "Hey, I love you, I'm so attracted to you, I want to snuggle and hold you because endorphins." And the dude's all, "Hey, sure, OK, fine. But imma keep my hands in my pockets because I'm cool and can't be seen putting effort into anything. ESPECIALLY snuggling with some…
And I totally understand/understood where you are coming from. I was not trying to give you a hard time last night at all. I still want to thank you for not using it in your title.
I don't know. I get your point, shame = admitting you did something wrong. But I work in the legal field and the reality is that the victim's profession is brought in as a character reference only. And I think we should stop bringing up ANY profession - doctor, lawyer, church secretary, or porn star. Because it IS…
I agree that there shouldn't be any emphasis on her profession, but it's relevant to the story in that that's what people know her for — she's not a minor name in porn. This is why doctor/lawyer isn't a 1:1 comparison unless they're an unusually well-known doctor or lawyer. You're absolutely right that "porn star"…
Shamefully, reading some posts across the internet, some idiots believe this was Christy's own fault! How DARE she have male company in her own home! Who does she think she is! If I didn't know any better I'd swear this was the 1800's. We have one douchebag beating the hell out of her because, even though they're…
She should be proud of what she does, but in this scenario, the focus should be on the events and not her profession.. From what I understand that is what @donnadraper was saying.
Yes, that is bullshit. Calling her a porn star is not. She is. She makes a great living, there's nothing to be ashamed of.
I don't agree with RR and I wanted to repost this here to tell you why.
I'm glad that you wrote that, because it needs pointing out, but I doubt that, were she a doctor (and the story got press attention...), the headlines would read, "Doctor brutally assaulted by scumfuck MMA shitbag War Machine".
Honestly, I just figured it was because she's the famous one and maybe it would be easier to identify her? Idk. I'm a fan of hers. Met her a few months ago at a bar and she was absolutely one of the nicest, down to eartg people I've ever met. I watch ufc and couldn't pick this scumbag out of a lineup if you paid me…
I don't disagree with this, but I also don't for a second believe that Gawker put "Porn Star" in its headline because it wanted to desensationalize the term.
FYI: War Machine performed in several porn videos as well. Though I haven't seen any articles in mainstream news outlets include that detail.
I hate seeing it in every headline, though, because the implication I get is that she's at least partly at fault because she (gasp!) does porn, so she's not worthy of the same respect as any other woman. And so many of the replies and comments say she's a "whore" or a "cunt" because of it.
Yeah, I get your point and it's definitely noted. But part of the problem is that we assign shame to phrases like "porn star." If we stopped doing that, those headlines wouldn't be "sensational." It would be just another profession title, NBD. Thanks for commenting, Donna.
Except that it is her profession and she is not ashamed of it at all. Why should we instill that shame on her by saying "Oh we won't mention what you do for a living." If she were a doctor, lawyer, etc. would you say something like that? Do you recognize that telling people they should omit that is basically an…
He sounds completely delusional/insane. Or maybe he is just trying his hardest to sound crazy so he can use it as a defense when he gets taken to court. Which you know he will absolutely be using it as a defense. And you also know that they will believe him over her. Especially since she is a sex worker.
It must be terrible for black parents to have to tell their children "Even if you're unarmed, even if you're well-behaved, even if you do everything right, there is still a chance that a white police officer will murder you in the street with your hands up."
