I agree and there is a saying "Laziness always wins" that many of us live our lives by. Even today I bought Tie Fighter off of GOG. Could I have setup dosbox and tried to config my way to getting the original to work? Probably, but what's lazier, doing all that or spending a mere 10 bucks to have it all done for me

It's not hard but not foolproof either. Especially with this freaking game. I've managed to get it to work about 90% except for all the cut scenes being in rainbow colors, having to spend about an hour getting sound and finding out none of the joysticks I have would work.

GOD this makes me miss the work of Lawrence Holland and the team that developed games like these. Challenging but rewarding, good story without a billion cut scenes, lots of controls and thought, and the detail for a game this old is incredible. I look at this and then look at a modern game and it's sad really.

Not even the DOS ones, the CD ROM versions were horribly finicky. I still remember the first time I installed, spend 2 hours trying to get sound, then I got a "Stack Overflow" error that took me a day to figure out and fix.

I think they meant the special editions of the game which were compatible enough to make it to Windows 95 instead of all DOS. They had all the expansion missions (for TIE Fighter) and I believe were in a new engine. Either that or the CD ROM vs. Floppy disk version with copy protection.

Absolutely HATE IGN's reviews. Their Civilization one is so horrible. The complaints were the characters are boring and the tech tree doesn't let you get everything before you beat the game...

Why play shitty retro games when you can play good retro ones? Why post this on another game review? Ohhh is it because it's the same game. I really don't think it's worth going down that route since you can find parts of any game that were lifted from others.

It's a very small company but Spirit Airlines which operates on the east coast is really horrible. You sort of get what you pay for since they are very cheap but I have had 3 total flights with them and all three were progressively worse.

Absolutley it is horrible. I have missed more connections because of that than anything.

Well in some cases that is true but I've also had some real "fun" experiences with some of the parking places around the airport. Some of them are practically downtown and advertise they're right by the airport. There was also my (probably) isolated incident with the Parking Spot when I left for a trip to Hawaii. Not

Just to give some credence from 2009:

Yeah I'll give them the train part is pretty nice but it just about stops there. I have never had a good experience flying out of there ever. From Parking to Security to navigating it to the actual freaking take off, it's just a disaster.

Newark Freaking Liberty. I have never had a positive time flying in or out of there in the 10 years I've been forced to use it. Horrible security, no separate customs line for connecting flights, parking is expensive as hell, and (this is in part from my lack of love for flying), when you take off no matter where you

Weird. My story didn't include Vault of Glass, or PVP, or patrols or co-op, or bounties.

DAMNIT! I saw a Kotaku article and it said TIE Fighter and I got so excited that my dreams of a new TF would come true.

It's not that surprising considering that in this country the mentality of measuring accuracy and intelligence is often measured by who is shouting louder on T.V., or who can pray harder (that's not a knock on religion, just a knock on people who think religion is the only answer).

To ham and fake cheese is the most common of meats and cheeses? I'm moving out of country. People have no taste

Kind of offended about Big Trouble in Little China, but I get why. You should add Slumber Party Massacre 2. It is insanely bad/hilarious. It's honestly one of my favorite movies

That's very good to know. It is pretty exciting to be an Android fan now a days. Lots of good choices.

Does the Droid Turbo come with an unbranded version of Android? or come without any specific bloatware? I'm not arguing just 100% curious. Personally I've gone from a Samsung Galaxy Nexus to a GS5 expecting to hate the skin. It doesn't bother me nearly as much.
