This is good stuff, but you’re on crack if you think a municipality will put anything in resembling a public safe space for this activity. For those of us that fought our city councils in the 80's to get skateparks, or even just legal places to skate in their city, I can tell you that it’s a non starter at any level.

This is exactly where I am with it as well, and I’d bet that fleets would be on board 100%.  That’s where the manufacturers have to look to first, get fleet adoption and the rest is gravy.  Once you get 6 burly railroad workers piling out of a hybrid CC/LB pickup truck, maybe the rest of the “manly” men will follow…

This was my take-away as well.  Pretty sure I’ve tried to get just about everyone I’ve ever known into my music, male or female.  This smacks of comedy, not of misogyny.  I’m not sure how you get this take from that speech unless you just need the clicks.

I have a diesel pickup and let me tell you, as soon as they make an electric that can tow up to 14,000 pounds and swap or charge a battery in roughly 15 minutes with 400-500 miles of range, I’ll be first in line.

Agree completely. I’d also add that this is a great place to test automation as well. Speeds are generally much lower and routes/stops are a known constant.
