Yeah, he definitely would have ... except for those pesky bone spurs.

“...and your father?”
My boys are six and three. Ihave always had a soft spot for those 1970s GMC RVs. I could pick up one that needs interior updating for relatively cheap. Work on it for a few years and be ready to rock when they’re a little older!
This is great dude. I love it.
That is an amazing story. My wife and I have discussed renting an RV and taking our boys on a big summer road trip when they’re a little older. After reading your post, I want to go and do this right now. Thank you for sharing.
I love you man.... Wow what a legacy that your parents and grandparents left you. Pay it forward, time for a road trip with your kiddos. Brought a tear to my eye. Those are memories that make life.
Wow, what an awesome story. Thanks for sharing it. Really made my day.
Maybe it was stripped of its engine, transmission, and rear end and the rest was crushed...or maybe you’ll see it on some Interstate someday, looking better than ever. Somehow, its ultimate fate being unknown makes the story better.
I promise to give a wink to our campervan as it sits waiting for spring.
A good story, but missing one detail: if that map is the only surviving remnant of the RV, what fate did it ultimately meet?
What a great story to read before leaving work and going home to the family for the weekend. Thanks for making my day! And yes, your family is the bees knees.

My Mom got a 1980 Honda Accord. In addition to being “very foreign” in Kansas City at the time its the first car I ever saw (or apparently anyone else in KC at the time) that had a clock in the dash! It was an analog clock and everyone could not stop talking about what a great idea it was and how every car should have…
The 1990 Chevrolet Caprice Classic my parents bought new when I was 3. We went everywhere in it and all I ever wanted was for it to be my first car. I think my parents held on to it longer than they would normally have done just because they knew how badly I loved it. It did end up being my first car, it was my baby.…
Suzuki Sidekick...great little SUV that we took everywhere. My mom was in the military and I grew up overseas. In Bolivia we had a little black or teal Sidekick and for some reason my memory is showing me some “cool” neon decals on it. My mom, sister and I went on countless camping and adventure trips that ranged from…
My dad’s 1977 MGB, yellow. He bought it when I was young, don’t know what year, sometime in the early to mid-90s. I remember sitting in the “back” of the car (on the package tray/battery box) with a seat belt that was jerry-rigged in.
Buick’s reputation as being a brand for The Olds is, in my case, less of a stereotype and more reality. My grandpa…
