I often wonder why that doesn’t exist yet.

1.) I’d take a female manual NSX and breed it with a male manual Lotus Esprit for generations until all the British engineering was gone and all that was left of the engine and power train was reliable Japanese engineering.

I got to see some early ones next to F-150's and there is a very significant difference in size between the two. Will it be enough to appease the people wanting a small truck? Probably not. But it definitely sits in the Mid-size category and will be more manageable than the F-150.

I was thinking the EXACT same thing. Talk about burying your lead: “Hyundai resurrects functional ducts: Uses less than 12 on grill”

Compared to the Civic and other current cars, yeah this isn’t nearly as ridiculous. The bottom rear area gets a little dicey, but again, compared to the Civic it’s pretty simple.

This is from a few years ago, but the current Ranger still sits on the same platform as the 2011 in this image. The difference in width is important - the rest of the world doesn’t have infrastructure designed for wide US-sized pickups.

Another reason the check engine light never sets on the British empire.

I remember reading about this in a concept car book my mom got me as a kid! The rear section had its own helper gas motor for when it was operating in full mommy-van capacity.

What’s your point, that there’s no perfectly safe mode of transit?

I feel like modern midsize pickups are meant for Off Road Lifestyle™, really, because they don’t have to care about the fleet buyer.

as soon as they’re in dealer lots, i’m bringing my 2002 extended cab by for a photoshoot. i’m curious as well.

Lol, that reminds me of a picture I took some years back at the iHobby Expo! I was taking pics of the new and re-issue models at the Revell-Monogram/of Germany booth and managed to get a pick of the 1/24 Scale SVO Mustang next to the 1/25 Scale 2010 Mustang GT and when I posted it on a model forum, another member

Maybe not huge, but it looks like an Explorer Sport Trac. I want an actual damn truck bed on this - something long enough haul a motorcycle in, with the tailgate closed.

Reminds me of something...
