The problem with the 2016 Ghostbusters wasn’t the cast. Those comedians are brilliant and hilarious and would have been perfect in a better-written movie. The problem was, and remains, Paul Feig and the writers. The movie just wasn’t funny, mostly because it was trying too hard to be funny.
