Should they choose to make another season of this show (HBO said they were open to this being more than a miniseries at TCA) then I hope they don't bring back just Stone but also Box and Helen. Even though Helen is, ostensibly, an antagonist to Naz, she's entertaining and smart

So I'm curious how close this is to the original British show, at this point. Also, how likely is it that the endings will be the same based on what we've seen?

We need Ian McDiarmid in one of these films ASAP.

Carrey can be grating, but this film has a great performance by him.

I'm glad I'm not the only person fascinated by that weird Jim Carrey version of Somebody to Love. Fucking bonkers.

It needs some polishing, especially the ending, if it were to be an episode, but, of course, it's not actually going to be so with that in mind I fully enjoyed this and laughed a lot. I was happy to have a new Steinbrenner rant.

I want to say it felt out of character, but that might also be because Tuturro is so likable that I think of Stone as a better guy than he maybe is (although he gave Nas good advice).

I don't know what to make of the prostitute scene. I think the show is trying to complicate all the characters, but it was a little jarring for me.

I find the feet thing pretty hilarious, and I've become oddly invested in him finding a cure. If you find it gross, though, I imagine it's pretty unbearable.

I didn't like the Nancy Grace cameo in this. She is such an abhorrent human being that she shouldn't be given any chance to be on TV more than she already has been.

I agree. If he did it, he doesn't remember doing it.

I turned to my dad during that scene and went "Isn't that a ridiculously low price to be asking for?" The $75,000 was pretty freaking low to begin with, let alone the 50,000/

Yeah. I think the scene with the cat is also supposed to show us that Stone has a soul to him.

Maybe I'm far too optimistic, but I don't get the impression that Stone doesn't care about Naz. I think he does. He still wants to get money, absolutely, but I do think there's a significant part of him that feels for the kid. Stone hits me as someone who knows the system sucks and is just trying to do the best he can

I have no idea. I just think someone else sneaking in and killing her while Nas was out cold will be a tough sell.

The actress' name is in the opening credits so I would not be surprised if we got more of her.

That was strangely adorable.

Yes, there is a lot that is smart about this show's approach. I can see some people being turned off by it, but it's meticulous attention to detail is in contrast to many other crime dramas, yet at the same time there's this element of, like you said, dystopia to it that adds a level of the surreal to the events,

It's worth it.

Everything else he was in.
