sideshows have been big since the late 80's early 90's. Long before Hyphy. Also, they seem to be shutting down the 580 and the 880 once a year now so I guess you'd call that a new tradition (albeit a stupid one).

The on ramps on that stretch are crazy. But it's one of the coolest freeways in California next to the 163 in downtown San Diego.
