That’s why I believe fines should be tied to income. For the uber rich, fines are just the cost of doing business. However, if you change the fines and adjust them with how much they earn, they’ll be singing a different tune. Finland has speeding fines based on income and I’m okay with that. Quit punishing the poor

I’m not one of those eat the rich types but reading stuff like this where something so egregious occurs makes me reconsider my position. In a sense, it’s wealthy folks literally shitting on the public. Eww.

Being a professional writer used to mean something.

Shitty headline is shitty, and you know it.

I already starred you, but this was very well said.

A post-scandal clip of CK drifted by as I was scrolling comedy videos the other day, and it opened with a really good joke:

“Here’s some advice only I can give: If you ask someone if you can jerk off in front of them, and they say yes, ask them, ‘ARE YOU SURE?’

And then, still don’t do it! Just don’t do it. Obviously.

How dare you bring thoughtfulness to an internet forum!

For what it’s worth, I think Jost and Che are pretty good. They have good chemistry together, which helps.

imo the letter was fine; the issue was his return to the spotlight and material about the situation didn’t really match that sense of contrite self-reflection.

I’m eager to see it. They guy was arguably one of the greatest living stand up comics at one point, if not one of the greatest comedians ever, full stop.

but it does seem that humiliating the women was part of it

Used to be a big fan of Louis ck, haven’t been able to go back to his stuff or see anything new he’s done since this news broke out.

Frankly, I’ve never thought that Louie’s behavior rose to the level of Cosby’s or Weinstein’s but it does seem that humiliating the women was part of it. Otherwise, why not just find a willing participant or hire a sex worker to watch you.

Makes me wonder how Kenan has been able to do it as well as he has for over two decades. It’s not like he’s been hanging back or coasting - dude is still bringing it in practically every other sketch every week. And as far as I can tell he hasn’t resorted to being a heavy drug user or toxic personality, and has no

“But as in the essay he published when his misconduct was brought to light back in 2017, C.K. doesn’t seem interested in atoning for his actions.”

Yeah, I guess I just don’t understand the compulsion or need to jerk off in front of uncomfortable people. Seems like if I had that compulsion, I’d maybe want to seek help for it.

The podiatrist.

I honestly thought Gen V was a better paced show than most seasons of The Boys has been so far—likely because it obviously borrows a lot straight from New Mutants/Generation X/Original X-Men comics. The first season was definitely better than at least 5 of the 10 X-Men universe films (I’m not counting Deadpool in that

No, the other one.

More like John Vought!
