That would be Americans again. In the UK nobody calls professors by their title. Not students, not fellow staff.

No. It isnt on him. It is on the people who use the title. He does not get referred to, or addressed as Chef Ramsay in his British shows.

On the actual line, when taking an instruction the reply "Yes chef" sounds ok and makes sense given the hectic nature of a kitchen, but to refer to him, in the third person as "Chef Ramsay", just sounds silly. I think Americans are more keen on honorific in daily life that we Brits are.

In the British shows, people do call him Gordon.

I wish I could plate up well. I can cook pretty damned well, but my meals always look deeply pedestrian and uninspired.
