Wasn't it admitted that they pretty much set up the whole thing to gain internet fame?

We are losing Wil Harris? What? Why? When?

What I don't understand is why the shield wall was so damned polite. Take a step forward, then wait patiently for a few minutes to let the wildlings rearrange themselves before stepping forward again.

Because Jon is not smart. What has he ever done that would make him acting in a smart, tactically aware manner seem true to character? Jon is a Stark, Starks are loyal but dumb.

Whatever happens now, the Starks are extinct, aren't they? Bran won't be having kids, mystics never do in these stories, and he is the only male Stark left.

Sorry, I was talking about Caputo and his failure to notice the moon cup solution to the menstrual problem.

I think the point of that was that when he [ETA: Caputo] is with MCC in the corporate world, he actually forgets about the needs of the women in his care. He is being torn between the two worlds, and the evil, corporate side has sex. [ETA: That is why he didn't notice the Moon Cups. He was distracted.]

That is something this show has in common with The Wire. It simply cannot have a happy ending. The system is set up to grind these women in the gears of the corporate machine and it will never stop.

When Romney lost to Obama, the RNC held an in depth analysis of the mistakes they made in that election and came up with what they needed to do going forward. The main conclusions were that they needed to better engage with racial minorities and women. What happened next will blow your mind!

Planning? Preparation? What do you think I am; some sort of productive member of society able to think ahead and achieve goals?

Bah! There is definitely stuff in this episode that I would like to discuss as it relates to later stuff.

Does it ever become OK to discuss spoilers in these threads? Is there a statute of limitations?

Avoision.

I am voting to Remain in the EU for the simple reason that at heart I am an internationalist. I think things get done better when people work across borders, and I think the EU is a pretty good example of that. But were I to be a waverer, unsure of who to vote for, just looking at the people who support Brexit would

A lot of that is to do with the move in the 1980s and 1990s towards a social Europe with regulations on workers rights that would not have been passed by the Tory governments of the time. Even today, Gove et al have talked about Brexit being a way to remove what they regard as cumbersome workplace regulations. It is

It is more nuanced than that. It has been "Fuck Germany OR France, depending on which one has the upper hand at the moment"

John Cleese is just a grumpy old man who is upset that the world is changing. See also, his rants about how comedy isnt funny anymore because of PC gone mad!

Newspapers are in the business of telling their readers what they want to hear. So, Times readers are more likely to be pro-Remain as they are well educated and middle class. So the Times comes out for Remain. Sun readers hate foreigners, so the Sun comes out for Brexit. Male readers hate pretty much everyone, so the

Brienne's idea of "honour" is just what I would call blind obedience. She has no opinions of her own, other than "I want to serve someone who can tell me what to do". Brienne is just as much what is wrong with Westeros as anyone else.
