Yes... but not where you thiiiiiink!
Is Madisynn in this? If not, pass.
“Our last letter, because we’re running out of time -- both on the program and just, well, generally...”
“London has fallen to the Aliens. But more importantly I can also tell you that Sophie From Manchester says ‘Say what you like about the killer Aliens, but by God they can organize an invasion’”.
She shouldn’t have blown all her Numberwang winnings.
“Double-reeded flutes are taking the mathematics out of music!”
I’m glad someone else thought of Andy Warhol.
I find the lack of talk of how freeing these technologies could become for those who are incapable of creating art the “normal” way. I have dysgraphia, and have basically been beating my head against a wall my whole life trying to learn how to draw, for various things. (Like making art of DND characters for example.)…
It depends; what do you define as “Art”? Is it only art when a person starts with an entirely blank canvas and creates the image by hand? What about art using other media? Remixes and such? Is hand drawn art “better” than CG art that a person sets up and renders?
Can these tools be used in bad ways to rip off and steal from artists? Yeah, absolutely. And that sucks, but it’s hardly some fault of the software. Art builds upon itself - Michael Kutsche’s art is also an amalgamation of different peoples’ styles. If these algorithms are straight-up copy/pasting chunks of someone’s…
Really? It feels harsh to say that you and Fallon need to see more movies, but a lot of films spring to mind where actually seeing the characters have sex is relevant (sometimes even vital) to the plot and to character development. Random ones just off the top of my head: Don’t Look Now; Fatal Attraction; Bull Durham;…
You’re right not to dismiss the half-giant dicks, but it should be pointed out that it wasn’t just “people” putting the show in it’s place, it was Ian Mc-Goddamn-Shane himself: “I was accused of giving the plot away, but I just think, get a fucking life. It’s only tits and dragons.”
More fun facts: in Japan, the film was released as “Samurai of the Desert”.
[Neil] Marshall described the surreal experience of “one of the exec producers leaning over your shoulder going ‘You can go full front, you know’.” The same executive producer would later pull Marshall aside and say, “Everyone else in the series is the serious drama side. I represent the pervert side of the audience,…
Fun fact - Kurosawa liked Sturges’ The Magnificent Seven a lot, and in fact Kurosawa, after seeing it, gave Sturges a gift of a samurai sword. I learned this from Hayley Mills’ recent memoir, and Hayley Mills would not lie to me. She has no reason to, I didn’t separate her and her twin sister during a divorce.
Star Wars was heavily influenced by Kurosawa’s The Hidden Fortress.
This is just advertising the show to horny Doctor Who fans.
I haven’t read a word of this yet, but on behalf of all AVC readers, thank you for not making this a slideshow.
